Vegetable seed oils are inflammatory. It is the number one thing keeping us fat. These oils are corn, soy, cottonseed, sunflower and safflower oils. The more foods we eat of these items the more we will store and increase the fat inside our bodies. Reducing and eliminating them will go a long way to creating better health and better fat composition in your body. You could be what is termed “skinny fat” and still have this problem.
These oils cause oxidative damage. They actually cause signaling to your adipose tissue to cause your “fat to grow” and create metabolic dysfunction increasing your chance of insulin resistance. This signaling response causes your LDL fat to become oxidized. This is inflammatory fat. Fat and cholesterol are inherently good. They have functions in the body to do. We get cholesterol from the good fat we eat and this creates our necessary sex hormones like estrogen which makes us feel strong and beautiful and cortisol which balances our stress. However, when it becomes oxidized is where our health goes south and takes our bodies south as well. So focusing on reducing industrial seed oils is important to stop increasing oxidized body fat.
When we eat these vegetable oils at home, in restaurants and in industrialized food sources we are increasing insulin resistance states Dr. Paul Saladino, author of the Carnivore Code. Insulin resistance means your body is not listening to your hormone insulin signals. So glucose can’t enter the cell and begins to build up in the body eventually leading to diabetes II
This creates too much hunger, makes you overeat and raises your insulin levels more. Therefore, you store more fat. It’s a vicious cycle. These fats make you tired as well and won’t give you the energy you need to be active, build muscle and feel good in your body. We want to be beautiful and we want to feel confident we are on the right path to health and vitality.
We have control over what oils we eat. We have control over what quality animal protein we buy. We need to eat a species appropriate diet similar to our ancestors. The food we eat should also be eating a species appropriate diet and should not be eating corn and soy–that is what makes our food system inflammable. And us sick and fat! But hopefully, not my followers. We want to minimize all seed oils and esp. cooking with them. Keep in mind that even though avocado and olive oils are healthy, they are often sold cut with vegetable oils to reduce cost. Olive oil shouldn’t be over cooked as it can become oxidized. Remember we want to burn fat not turn on storage of extra oxidized fat. Managing this one step will help us reduce insulin resistance and lower our appetite so we can focus on eating healthier meals and snacking less. This is healthy weight management.
