The Powerful Scent of Roses

THE POWER OF ROSES

Giving roses away as gifts for Mother’s Day has been traditional as a way of honoring family and friends. We unknowing bestow health benefits through beauty. We aren’t usually aware of this powerful process. We just know it works and makes everyone feel good

We all know roses smell good. Did you know they make you physically and emotionally feel good as well?  We all love the Rose. We give roses and flowers for gifts on Mother’s Day, Valentines’ Day and for celebrations. We treasure them in our yards. We see their beautiful colors everywhere and the sight brings an expected pleasure of memories past.  When we see roses that are within our touch, we pause and the first thing we do is to smell the rose and hope for a scent.  Late spring and early summer brings us the best roses with the highest scents. Pink and red roses have the best rose scent. Pink roses are a symbol of joy, red roses of love, yellow roses of friendship, and white is for purity.

My front yard roses. I love the magnificent old rose. It is gigantic!

I have been enjoying the roses in my yard. Everyday I go out to see and scent them, calming and grounding myself as I do so. It has become a morning ritual. This week, I gave a rose bush to a friend to give her pleasure; I received pleasure as well.  I was given a pink rose for friendship and it made me smile the next morning. Today I planted two more Drift roses as ground cover. I love them. I love walking in my neighborhood and seeing the colorful blooms. Just seeing them brings in a scene of peace.  What is the powerful pull to have roses and give roses away as gifts in high regard? Why do we love the scent of Roses?

One of the most interesting facts I learned while studying essential oils, is that the scent of Roses has the highest frequency of essential oils resonating at 320 megahertz. Vibrational frequency, the rate at which vibration occurs  impacts our bodies frequency, increasing our bodies energy and giving us a feeling of wellbeing.  There are 300 chemical compounds that influence the scent of roses. These chemicals are monoterpenes. As we inhale the scent of the rose it enters the limbic system of the brain that is responsible for emotions and memories. This induces the physiological effects that can reduce blood pressure, increase heart rate and increases the feel good hormones serotonin and dopamine. In short they make us feel good. We want to bring that beauty and the healing scent of roses away as gifts to those we want to honor and love. Even just the thought of this increases these feelings and a sense of joy. That is plant power

Did you know our body’s natural vibrational frequency is 62-72. The things we come in contact with can raise or lower this frequency. Fresh produce is 15mhz while canned food has none!  Negative thoughts lower our frequency while positive thoughts raise them. Our bodies attune to its surroundings. It is important to surround ourselves with high frequency plants, fresh food we eat and a positive lifestyle. These frequencies help our body get into a better healing state. Essential oils, roses and plants can help us do this.  Getting ourselves out into nature can do this. If we do this regularly we can regulate our anxiety and stress. Why do I crave to be near cypress trees?  They are the other plants with the higher MHz of scent. These are powerful plant medicines.  Let your body and mind feel what you need to stay in homeostasis. That’s where health is.

I love Rose essential oil. It takes 60 roses for one drop or 250 pounds for one ounce of rose essential oil. No wonder this is an expensive essential oil!  The Rose Otto (Rosa damascena) is valued for its aromatherapy. Rose essential oil is known for its antioxidant, anti-bacterial, astringent, antidepressant and anti inflammatory properties. It is wonderfully healthy and moisturizing for facial skin. Fortunately it only takes a tiny bit in serums for healing and for its powerful scent. We intuitively know we will feel good when we smell it. The scent and emotional memories are what gives us pleasure when given as a gift and received as a gift. That is the power of roses!

How do you make the power of the Rose work for you?  Do you love to plant them in your yard, buy them for gifts?  Did you know it’s one of the highest MHz of scents?  Give the gifts of roses to your loved one and they will benefit body and mind—decreasing their stress and anxiety. The mighty ROSE. Enjoy your Mother’s Day!
