LION’S MANE MUSHROOM SUPPLEMENT

Hello,

It’s Lori Balue and this is my first email letter to my subscribers on what is new and exciting in health and nutrition, as well as my perspective on lifestyle applications for your health and well being, through education and my personal insight on supplementation for better aging. Today I am writing the first installment of several mushroom supplements that I am excited about and wanted to share with you, my subscribers. Here it is: LION’S MANE MUSHROOM

Lion’s Mane mushrooms have been part of Chinese medicine for millennia. Studies show Lion’s Mane supports brain health, lessens the symptoms of neuro-degenerative diseases, boost mood, focus and supports the nervous system.  The benefits of Lion’s Mane as a daily nutritional supplement is a powerful anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and immunostimulant. For those of us interested in biohacking our biology it is a good supplement for anti-aging.

“As we age we want to have better memory, increase the health of our brain cells and slow down aging,” says Dave Asprey.  “Lion’s Mane is being shown to be neuroprotective. Studies show the Lion’s Mane stimulates the creation of two important compounds:  nerve growth factor (NGF) and brain-derived neurotropic (BDNF). We want to stimulate NGF and BDNF daily as we journey through our healthy lifestyle to increase production of new cells and strengthen existing ones.  NGF plays the important role of forming myelin, the sheath around nerve cells that helps the brain cells do their job. BDNF is shown to increase brain plasticity, which helps your brain cells stay resilient in the face of aging and stress.”

I Supplement with Lion’s Mane daily to increase the health of my brain and to support my nervous system thus it is part of my “Ageing Successfully” lifestyle.  It pairs well with coffee as it helps relax the nervous system while coffee stimulates. Taking it in the morning support BDNF, suppress appetite and increase energy metabolism helping with weight loss.  Taking it again later in the evening is a good bedtime Chinese tonic for sleep management. Many people supplement with it for good memory, better focus and clarity with improved blood flow for more oxygen to the brain, optimal daily performance as well as better REM sleep and dreaming.  Personally, I have noticed better sleep with the combination of Lion’s Mane, collagen and progesterone cream.

I had been using Lion’s Mane sporadically, but I specifically started using it regularly because of the podcast by Dave Asprey and Life Cykel (Mushrooms Are Your New Anti-Aging Strategy–Life Cykel: 603) discussing the benefits of it, especially that Lion’s Mane has been known to increase the REM cycle of sleep. I found this very fascinating and empowering to want to use it as well.  I fall asleep fairly well, however, I would like to have better and deeper sleep. Therefore, focusing on and creating good sleep is an anti-aging practice that we should all practice daily making it a priority–this is our health and well-being that we are in charge of. There isn’t just one way to increase better sleep. It’s lifestyle practices which we improve as we learn more information to put towards maintenance of good sleep practices. Lion’s Mane happens to be a powerful supplement for sleep and brain health.

I love it when I am listening to a good podcast and I hear about powerful knowledge that can better support my health. I am also excited to share these insights with others who may become empowered to implement them for themselves and create better health as well.

I am excited to share the Austraian company Life Cykel with you.  They use a double extraction method using water and alcohol at a 1:2 ratio.  This double liquid extract ensures that both water and soluble compounds (polysaccharides like beta glucans) and alcohol soluble compounds (antioxidants) are present, are full-spectrum and have good bio-availability in a synergistic formula.  This is a high performance, entire life-cycle mushroom extract using the mycelium, primordia and the fruiting body. The Life Cykel company has also created a local food and sustainable practice of using coffee waste to grow mushrooms that empathizes nutrition, health and happiness and waste utilization in Australia.

I have become an affiliate of their company and have a discount code I can share with my subscribers as referrals.  You can save 10%. My discount code is loribalue10.
