BEAT FATIGUE WITH GROUNDING & SUNLIGHT FOR ENERGY PRODUCTION IN OUR BODIES
Grounding yourself daily outside in your yard or garden is important for calming and energy collection. Even without a yard, be barefoot in nature when you can. Being barefoot in sunlight is even more beneficial and, like adding fuel to our cars, this is a way to add energy to our cells.
Getting out into nature and getting sunlight is important for our autonomic nervous system (ANS). I call it resetting or getting my nature fix. It calms us down and we crave it but perhaps you didn’t understand why. It helps lower our stress and helps us remain in homeostasis. That’s the balancing of our health by maintaining less stress. Sunlight and the collection of the immune balancing D3 through our skin which is the best way to get your free, D3, is also an important process. I once heard that, in the study of forest bathing, you need to have a day in nature every three weeks to maintain the benefits. I like the concept more is better.
I love the story of someone I listened to who was a tractor-lawn mower in the forest. All day he mowed the forest grasses. He had wonderfully low stress levels. When he no longer had this job and moved to a city, he noticed higher stress levels. He ended up studying the effects of stress on the body. He had discovered that the pine scent and essential oils he was breathing in all day in the forest was beneficial to homeostasis and the ANS and lowered his stress.
What did you do this week to get out in nature and get some of that free sunlight on your skin? I had a nice drive to Crestline, Ca. My friend and I stopped off at Silverwood lake for a short hike. There was lovely, yellow and fragrant Fredonia. It was amazing and so uplifting. Getting outside and breathing in fresh scents and essential oils is health building.
In Crestline, we walked the Heart Rock trail among the trees. We had lunch at Lake Gregory and walked around the lake. It was the perfect day to get out, hike and relax. It felt so good and almost unreal to think that I was in the forest but only an hour or so from home. We drove over to Lake Arrowhead and walked around the village and enjoyed seeing the lake. I am grateful for my hiking friend who plans our outings and gets me out of my house and away from studying for a day.
As an FDN-Practioner, I am learning more about the overall health of our gut; inflammation and oxidation, undigested protein as well as parasites, pathogenic bacteria and yeast. These cause imbalances to our health, leaky gut and that loss of vital reserve that leads to pain and the feeling of run down. I run functional lab tests so we don’t guess about the health issues causing metabolic chaos in my clients. Why chase symptoms for years when you can get to the underlying cause when working with an FDN and solve your health problems? An FDN-P is a health detective, that’s me!.
