THE MIGHTY BERRY THAT IS “MIRACLE GROW FOR THE BRAIN”
There is a colorful red berry that is actually the fruit of the coffee bean called Coffee Berry. This is whole coffee nutrition with a powerhouse of health promoting benefits.
What is Coffee Berry? It is the outside red fruit of the coffee bean. It is technically called a stone fruit—the pit is the raw coffee bean. This fruit has historically been discarded as useless in the process of processing coffee. It is only recently that the health benefits have been discovered and explored. Coffee fruit contains less caffeine than the bean and is a good alternative to coffee as mental enhancement.
Coffee berry is a superfood and antioxidant. It’s antioxidant is Chlorogenic Acid which activates GABA receptors in the brain, decreasing stress, anxiety and depression. It’s a powerful and safe nootropic for the brain. It lower inflammation, boosting blood flow to the brain. It keeps the brain healthy and strong, preventing brain aging.
How does coffee berry work? It increases brain derived neurotrophic factors (BDNF) studies show by 143%. It is a type of protein that supports new growth of neurons and increases new pathway connections. So you learn faster, improve memory and have better cognition. This means better mental clarity and focus. Psychiatrist, John Ratey, States, “BDNF is like miracle grow for the brain.” “This is creating new brain cells and strengthening existing ones to rewire the brain for healthy aging and better stress management.”
An impressive study by the Anticancer Research shows that coffee fruit extract has anti-cancer activities that suppress the growth and spread of cancer cells in mice studies by 54% in 10 days. Of course, continuing studies are still needed with humans.
Since Coffee berry extract increases blood flow to the brain, it reduces inflammation which may lessen the risk for Alzheimer’s. This is definitely an anti-aging supplement. My hack—take it with Brain Octane or MCT oil for daily super powers. This was one of my half marathon supplement stacks that worked very well to keep me energized and happy. Take it with ginkgo for better brain health overall.
Coffee berry extract comes in supplement form. This is how I use it. I find it a wonderful, energizing support that keeps me focused and mentally alert. I take it daily to get the BDNF and polyphenol benefits for a healthier brain. I am growing new neural pathways daily and increasing brain plasticity with supplementation, daily exercise, sunlight and diet habits. I believe I have the success I have with going back to school and learning Functional health by “turning my brain back on” (creating neurogenesis). I can literally feel myself thinking fast. It’s powerful. I use Garden of Life’s Memory and Focus and Bulletproof’s Neuromaster.
You can also increase BDNF naturally with daily practices of exercise, yoga, meditation, deep sleep, sunlight, eating and drinking polyphenols (coffee, tea, chocolate, blueberries, pomegranates, red cabbage, and vegetables (think purples and reds).
Just being aware of ways to increase brain health and function through supplementation and daily habits is half the battle of Aging Successfully. Get excited about using coffee berry extract and use it as a powerful pathway to support your brain and to increase energy.
